Jaco, is about 15 minutes away from the
resort. You will find restaurants, bars, tourist
shops, nightlife and the best surf in the area.
There is a brand new shopping center just 5
minutes away from the resort, here you will
find a well stocked grocery store, pharmacy,
restaurants and other convenient shops.

course, spa service, gifts shop and room
service to your condo.

you just want to get some sun and relax pool
side, you can enjoy the pools in the complex
or the beautiful beach club.

Everything in the resort is within walking
distance but after a long day of fishing we
recommend renting a golf cart to make it a
little more relaxing. You can also rent a full

A valid passport and an up to date drivers

clothing (shorts, t-shirts and polo shirts are
great), tennis shoes and sandals, hat,
sunglasses, sun block and a camera (digital
preferably because you will take a ton of
pictures.)

Where can I exchange money and are
credit cards accepted?

U.S. Dollars are accepted almost anywhere,
it's a good idea to exchange dollars to have
local currency Local currency is on a fixed
devaluation with the US dollar, rate
exchange is about 500 colones per dollar.

When you arrive you may exchange your
money at any local bank, where you will
receive the best exchange rate.

Credit cards are accepted, some
merchants give discounts for using cash
since the credit card merchant companies
charge high percentage rates on
transactions.

ATM's are widely available to withdraw
funds from either your debit or credit card.
We recommend doing your transactions at
the Marina Village, where Interfin Bank is
located.

What other advice do you give?

Even though Spanish is the official
language in Costa Rica, English is widely
spoken in most tourist areas like Los
Suenos and Jaco.

There is a $26 USD departure tax, per
passenger, that must be paid before you
check in with your airline at the airport,
credit cards are accepted.

Customer service here is more laid back
and can be very slow, so be patient.

Local traffic is very disorganized and roads
aren't in great condition, compared to the
states. Drive with care if you plan on renting
your own vehicle.

If you are interested in purchasing real
estate in Los Suenos or elsewhere in Costa
Rica, we'll be more than happy to help you
find what you are looking for.

Currency in Costa Rica is the Colon, you'll
find notes in denominations of 10000, 5000,
2000 and 1000. Coins are in
denominations of 500, 100, 50, 25, 10 and
5. Remember the exchange rate is about
500 per dollar.

The water in Los Suenos is serviced by a
system of aquifers in the resorts private rain
forest reserve, this makes it safe to drink
the water straight from the tap. Although the
Costa Rica water is considered clean, we
recommend purchasing bottle water outside
the resort.
